Mission Statement.

Ruwenzori Diocesan Children Ministry exists to embrace and guide children to grow into productive adults with Christian values through evangelization, capacity building and advocacy.

Core Values.

Godliness, faithfulness to holy scriptures, integrity, selfless service, unconditional love, unity in Christ and upholding Biblical family values.

Ruwenzori Children’s Center is an integrated Faith Based Program under the Education department of the Diocese of Ruwenzori. It developed from Ruwenzori Diocese Children’s Ministry that has been in existence as the church itself.

In 2009/2010, a Children’s desk was initiated by the late Bishop Patrick Kyaligonza intended to enhance Christian teaching to children, train children’s church teachers, Children’s Church planting, Counseling and Guidance.

All in all, the church continues to experience lots of injustices inflicted on children today increasing cases of child abuse and neglect such as, children dropping out of schools to engage in child labor /slavery, commercial sexual exploitation of children, drug and substance abuse, grabbing land of orphaned children etc. This is worsened by extreme poverty and HIV/AIDS that has left many children orphaned.

In that context, Ruwenzori Diocese is strategically implementing a holistic program that embraces children and guides them to grow into responsible adults by, becoming a voice of the voiceless children and advocating for their rights and their responsibilities.
