Youth in the Diocese

On behalf of the entire Youth in the Diocese of Ruwenzori, and on my own behalf, I wish to extend our gratitude’s to the Diocesan Bishops, for bringing the youth on board.

The Youth are now represented at all administrative levels where their views are presented and their voice is heard. Many Youths are being sponsored for both Theological and none Theological Education while others have been employed by the Church in her projects like RUDI SACCOS and Health centers.

Youth response

The Youth are committed to the spread of the Good News of Our Lord Jesus Christ to their fellow Youths and to all other people who have never received Christ in their lives, under the umbrella of RAYM (Ruwenzori Anglican Youth Missioners’)

Through all activities and successes, the Youth have challenges. Most of the Youth activities are carried out during holidays since most of them are students; this somehow limits the time to evangelise. Drug abuse among the Youth who have not yet received Christ in their lives, is a great threat in the community Kabarole has a high production level in drugs like “enjahi” (marijuana) and “Mairungi”.

The Proximity of the Sources has turned most youth into addicts. High School drop out among the Youth is at a high rate in Ruwenzori Region Early Marriages and child labour being among the causes.

I appeal to all stake holders such as local leader’s opinion leaders, Church leaders and parents to be active enough in shaping the morals of the young generation for future of our Country and God’s glory.
